K-Drama Fans Spot Intriguing SHINee Minho-Kim Ji Soo Connection in ‘Romance in the House’: 'OMG, I Almost Forgot That'

Fans of the K Drama "Romance in the House" have been intrigued by a development involving one of the show's talented cast members.

Minho from SHINee, who portrays Nam Tae, has captured attention by transitioning from falling for a woman to developing feelings for her on-screen daughter.

The drama, which premiered in Netflix on August 10 follows the story of Byeon Moo Jin (portrayed by Ji Jin Hee) a man who returns to his family after facing struggles and divorce as an individual 14 years later. However, he realizes that money cannot mend relationships.

The plot delves into the dynamics among Moo Jin, his ex-wife Geum Ae Yeon (played by Kim Ji Soo), and their two children. Byeon Mi Rae (portrayed by Apinks Naeun) and  Byeon Hyeon Jae (played by Yoon San Ha). At a moment in the series, Minho's character Nam Tae Pyeong, comes to Byeon Mi Rae's aid when she faints from exhaustion at her job as a food merchandiser.

Little did Mi Rae know, Tae Pyeong isn't a security guard. He's actually the son of the owner of J Plus mart, where she works.

What has intrigued long-time K Drama fans is the link between Minho and Kim Ji Soo from a show.

Both actors starred together in the 2016 series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, wherein Minho portrayed a warrior who developed feelings for Kim Ji Soo's character, the Queen Regent.

Minho was 25 years old then while Kim Ji Soo was 44, resulting in a 19-year age gap between their characters.

Jump to 2024. We see Minho at 32 co-starring with Naeun, who was two years his junior, as his love interest in Romance in the House. Meanwhile, Kim Ji Soo at 51, plays Naeun's mother in the series.

While some viewers might have overlooked the past on-screen chemistry between Kim Ji Soo and Minho, others anticipate that the screenwriters of Romance in the House will subtly nod to it during the show.
