Lunch Break Recap: No Gain, No Love is Captivating

Shin Min Ah and Kim Young Dae star as two struggling individuals with hearts of gold. Shin Min Ah's character is a hard-working woman who cares for her aging mother. After a childhood filled with foster siblings, she has taken on the task to be the good daughter. In episode one of No Gain, No Love, we learned her ex-boyfriend cheated on her during their relationship and even mocked her for caring for her mom. Shin Min Ah accidentally attends his wedding and later demands compensation for his cheating ways.

Kim Young Dae's character is full of good deeds. He is referred to as an "angel," because he assists the police in catching criminals and stands up for justice anywhere he sees fit. During a job interview, he stands up for women's rights, and we even witness him return a police uniform to the station. Shin Min Ah and Kim Young Dae's on screen relationship proves to be a difficult one as they seem to be sworn enemies during their encounters at his job. Nonetheless, Shin Min Ah asks him to be her fake husband at the end of episode one, so she can score a job promotion and change the bad luck in her life.

By episode two, we learn about Kim Young Dae's character relationship with his grandmother. We discover the motives behind his good guy ways. The main stars finally agree on a pretend marriage and start shopping for wedding attire and making other wedding preparations.

No Gain, No Love also stars Lee Sang Yi and Han Ji Hyun and it airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:50 PM KST on tvN.
