According to a News1 report, actress Song Hye Kyo has made ₩6.00 billion (approximately $4.5 million) due to a successful real estate investment.
In 2021, the star acquired a five-story building near Hannam the Hill, one of Seoul's most luxurious areas. The building is based on a 149.35 pyeong plot of land and has an area of 74.61 pyeong. The deal was concluded at a price of ₩19.5 billion (approximately $14.6 million).
At the same time, Song invested ₩11.5 billion (approximately $8.63 million) from her own financial reserves and took the rest from a bank loan.

Over a period of three years, the value of land has increased from ₩131 million (approximately $98,000) per pyeong to₩165 million (roughly $124,000) per pyeong.
At present, the market value of the building is estimated at ₩25.5 billion (approximately $19.2 million). At the same time, the construction of the building itself was carried out in 1989, but its increased value is associated with the land.
Thus, the real estate investment has become a source of increased financial welfare, making Song Hye Kyo one of the richest actresses in South Korea, not only due to her work in the film industry.
Celebrity Net Worth estimates Song Hye-Kyo's net worth to be somewhere around $37 million.
In 2017, the "Descendants of the Sun" star was 7th on Forbes magazine's Korea Power Celebrity list, and in 2018 she moved up to 6th place. By 2021, however, she was the second richest South Korean actress.
