The recent episode of the drama "Love Next Door" by tvN has become a subject of numerous viewers' backlash on social media due to a questionable bed scene featuring Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min.

In the 13th episode of the series, aired on September 28, Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu share their first night while they lie near each other in bed.

Despite small dialogues like "Why are you staring at me like that?" and "This moment just feels like a dream," viewers found the bed scene awkward and unnatural, criticizing the directing.

In addition, the critics noted the uncomfortable position in which the leads were lying: they took their tops off, although they covered themselves with a blanket. As a result, the intended romance appeared "clunky and puzzling."

The scene lasted for over two minutes with nothing significant happening, and the viewers said, "Who would talk while lying down like that?" and "Your posture is too humble, these were all results of bad directing, which should have been focused on their chemistry."

Other comments in the Korean community forum, theqoo, include: "Why are they lying so far apart?" and" This has got to be the most demure morning after."

The viewers also mentioned some reasons for their discomfort with the scene, such as tacky print on the bedding and awkward bare shoulder reveal, and concluded that "all cringe and no butterflies."

Social media comments reflect the overall critical attitude towards the scene. For instance, one viewer wrote, "It's like they took a trip to a rural island and missed the last boat out."

Another one compared the scene to the ones in the old K-dramas: "This is like Sims 2, but no cheat key."

While "Love Next Door" is a PG-15 show with no overly steamy sex scenes, viewers do not expect such questionable content scenes. In addition, this is not the first scene that was a subject of numerous viewers' criticism in the show.

Episode 11 faced similar outbursts, and now viewers are concerned with the quality of the show and the choices made by the production team.

"Love Next Door" is a show about a woman trying to fix a deeply damaged track of life and her complex past romance. It airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m.
