'Treasure Island': Jaw-Dropping Casting News Includes Former Oh My Girl member Gong Jiho in Star-Studded SBS Series
Gong Jiho joins famed actors Park Hyung Sik and Heo Joon Ho in the upcoming SBS show titled 'Treasure Island,' her agency P& Studio confirms today. She exclusively chose the acting path in August 2022, and it is already paying off with this jaw-dropping news.

Gong Jiho debuted as a Kpop idol in April 2015 and enjoyed success with numerous studio albums, mini albums, and collaborations. Oh My Girl is best known for the singles 'Cupid,' Dun Dun Dance, and 'Nonstop.' After six years as a Kpop singer, Gong Jiho left the group and her agency, WM Entertainment.
"'Treasure Island,' which is slated to air in 2025, will tell the story of a man who manages to hack a political slush fund account worth 2 trillion won (approximately $1.5 billion) and the man who kills him without knowing he's been hacked-thus accidentally losing the entire 2 trillion won," 'Soompi' reports.
They added, "The drama will be penned by "Money Flower" writer Lee Myung Hee and helmed by "Military Prosecutor Doberman" director Jin Chang Gyu."
Gong Jiho has been carving out her personal journey for awhile. She discussed her unique fashion sense in a 2021 interview with 'Allure' magazine.
"The hanbok I wore for our 'Nonstop' stage at the Golden Disc Awards was memorable because it's a style that I can't wear often. All three elements (hair, accessories, and makeup) went well with the hanbok, which helped me express and immerse myself on stage."
She added, "I also had the chance to style my hair with binyeo (a traditional Korean hairpin) and other extremely pretty floral pins. And I remember that a reddish eye shadow was used to line my eyes, which emphasized my eyes and looked attractive."
