Fans of the very popular K-drama "Princess Hours," also called "Goong," are eagerly anticipating its remake.

Discussions on different social media sites hint that its launch may never take place, sparking nostalgia and varied reactions from the viewers.

The original rom-com drama broadcast in 2006 gained immense popularity due to a captivating plot and a fantastic cast of the main roles: Joo Jihoon and Yoon Eunhye.

They have been recognized as some of the most popular Korean actors after their performance in the show.

Rumors about the remake go back quite a few years, particularly, four years ago when several sources first hinted at the upcoming event. In 2021, GROUP8, the producer of the original series, confirmed that development work would be undertaken, raising the excitement of the numerous international fans.

Last year, the group also promised to launch the filming of the new version in the second half of 2023, with a premier planned this year. Nevertheless, since that time, no information has been available. In the meantime, numerous fans continued discussions on social media and even launched casting some actors and actresses.

Accordingly, the names of Shin Yeeun, Roh Jeong-ui, and Song Kang are already being considered. A fan hopes that not only experienced actors will be cast but also young ones so that the series can produce new heartthrobs for teenagers.

Another comment says, "Please give us a good cast and make a proper remake." All fans hope that the actors will cope with their roles and offer something they have not seen or experienced before.

Although there is a lot of skepticism, hundreds of fans are excited about the upcoming or at least possible launch.

"I must watch the remake," says a hopeful future viewer, who has never seen the original.

"I have seen so many people raving about it that I want to watch the remake now."

For now, fans can only reminisce about the original series and share their thoughts online as they wait for confirmation regarding the remake's status
