The 53-year-old Hong Kong actress Elena Kong opened up about using dating apps to hook up with younger guys recently in a live stream of her YouTube program.

The actress, also in the public eye for an extensive career, said that she started exploring these platforms after one of her friends found love through one.

Active in the entertainment scene since her modeling days and acting since 1997, Kong revealed her aims on the app after a viewer expressed worries over men seeking casual hook-ups.

"Initially, it was just out of curiosity. I was wondering, 'Can you really find someone on it?' A lot of people also want to know what dating apps are really like," she said as quoted by 8days.

When fans cautioned Elena that many users on dating apps are only interested in casual encounters, she chuckled and replied, "That's my intention too! Do you think I'm looking for true love? I set the age range to 35 to 40 years."

At first, Kong would go under an alias, using photos of her face that were not obviously visible.

However, she said she received direct messages from men on different platforms after the news broke that she had used the dating app.

The actress was honest about her personal life, having previously revealed she leans toward "shower sex."

Prior to this, Kong had been married to Ng Kwan Cheung for 12 years until their divorce in 2018.
