After the movie based on his life released in theaters on Christmas Day, the real "Wolf of Wall Street" Jordan Belfort is being called on to become a reality star.
Belfort, who inspired "The Wolf of Wall Street" movie that is currently starring Leonardo DiCaprio, was confronted by Electus CEO Chris Grant to appear in a positive reality show that would be based on assisting people who have plummeted to rock bottom.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grant called Belfort "TV Gold."
Presently, Grant is head of the studio that conducts reality shows like "Fashion Star" and "Mob Wives."
After reading Belfort's 2007 memoir "The Wolf of Wall Street," Grant was persistent about meeting the businessman who swindled investors out of $110 million in the 1990s and partied while doing it.
"I knew without even seeing a picture of him that he could be a talent both behind and in front of the camera," Grant said, according to AceShowbiz.com.
Grant found Belfort working as a motivational speaker in Manhattan Beach, California after being in prison for 28 months.
They discussed how Belfort's "unique set of business skills" would be a key ingredient to the reality show.
Furthermore, the show will depict Belfort "stepping in to help others who, like him, have hit rock bottom but still hold out some hope for redemption."
Currently, the show is being passed around to TV executive with guarantees that Belfort will make it a hit.
