Song Hye Kyo Reveals 6 Months of Smoking Practice for the 'Dark Nuns' as She Doesn't Want to Fake It

In preparation for her new film, "Dark Nuns," Song Hye Kyo admitted she practiced smoking ahead of filming the grittier scene for six months.

Song Hye Kyo, who plays Sister Yunia -- an unyielding nun who'll do anything it takes to save a boy -- spoke about her character during a press conference on January 20 at Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Directed by Kwon Hyuk-jae, the film is scheduled to hit the theaters on January 24.

"I'm so nervous," Song Hye-kyo, a star of many hit dramas and films, said as quoted by Xports News while adding, "I hope you enjoy it because it is a film that I have worked on a lot."

"It was my first time portraying a smoker, so I had some anxiety over it. As a non-smoker, I was worried about how to handle this aspect of the character," she said, adding, "But with Sister Yunia, I knew smoking was an inescapable part of her identity.

Song, 43, made sure to bring authenticity to her performance, saying, "The opening scene opens with smoking, and it is done in a big closeup. I felt like I shouldn't be lying about it. So, on top of rehearsing my lines for play practice, I also practiced smoking a lot.

The "Dark Nuns" stars Jeon Yeo Bin Lee Jin Wook and Moon Woo Jin. The movie has gotten fans excited, leading to its release this week.
