A highly popular contestant from the Netflix Korean dating program Single's Inferno 4, Lee Si An, is facing a slew of bitter remarks on her Instagram.

This comes after backlash for her love interests onscreen with contestants Theo Jang and Yuk Jun Seo.

Since Si An posted on Instagram on January 16, she has been flooded with comments about her supposed love triangle role.

Some viewers have dubbed her a "red flag" for her ebb-and-flow whims in love interests.

Some of the negative comments include:

• "You have suppressed Gwanhee . Total red flag"
• "Episode 7-8 SIAN WTFFFFFFFFFF"
• "Why you do thattttttttttttt 😭😭😭 so disappointed"
• "Imagine how sad Theo and Minseol if they knew about the bed scene in paradise."
• "Leave Theo just say u deserve better"

But in the face of the negativity, many fans rallied to support Si An with their own positive messages.

One user commented: "I love you Sian! Thank you for being true to yourself. Please always remember that you did nothing wrong in the show. Any kind of editing, be it good or evil, always remember that those people around you and close to you will always know how good, nice, and genuine you are as a person. Keep shining!"

Another commented: "Si An, I don't know if you're going to read this comment, but it's still the beginning of the year, so I hope you won't get too hurt by the comments. I understand your heart completely, and I would have been a pick for you even if you were like me."

Viewers have noticed the trend of social media harassment around the show since its inception, with previous contestants also subjected to online criticism.

On Reddit, an OP said: "There is no absolutely no need for people to jump into their personal socials to bash 'em and leave mean comments."

Meanwhile, the other contestant on the show, Theo Jang, ignited controversy when he liked an Instagram comment comparing Si An to a "pick me girl" (a woman who seeks male attention and approval in a way that is often at the expense of other women).

A user on Instagram wrote: @tachyonproject you need to stay away from pick me girl @youseeany she is such a pick me girl. And she is just playing with your heart. It's more like @youseeany she is more focused on the attention and status boosts she gets from all the guys vying for her. She is literally the female version of @leegwanhee0429."

A Reddit user noticed Theo's activity and defended Si An, saying "Theo should get off of Instagram once in a while because this is embarrassing."

Though many speculate Jang may have clicked through some comments at random, others argue that given Jang's proficiency in English, he must have understood the comment.

As the end of Single's Inferno 4 nears, the sparks of the drama have been flying onscreen and online.
