The beloved yoga instructor has passed away at the age of 35.

Her passing was announced by Yogaum, the studio she ran, via its official social media account on February 19.

"Today, we have to pass on some unexpected, sad, and heartbreaking news," the statement read.

The statement continued: "Teacher Lee Yoo Joo passed away yesterday (February 18)."

There will be no public wake or funeral, as requested by her family. Rather, there is a place created for visitors to pay their respects at Yogaum until Friday.

The studio stated: "Please pray for the soul of teacher, Lee Yoo Joo, who was bright and pure and shone like a star in the world with her wonderful gifts, so that she can rest in peace."

The death of Lee Yoo Joo shocked many fans and followers, and some expressed their mourning.

On her social media a day before she died, she shared a selfie along with the caption, "BYE," which has garnered a lot of views from her followers.

Fans have been quick to respond with messages of condolence. Another user commented: "I hope you are resting in peace somewhere where there is no pain." A third said: "I followed you for your yoga, and this is the saddest thing.

Lee Yoo Joo became known to the public for her role as a yoga expert, appearing on a variety of programs.

She gained wider recognition after appearing on MBC's "Infinite Challenge," in which she taught the show's cast members yoga.
