The family of the late singer and actress Sulli has responded to actor Kim Soo Hyun's recent press conference, criticizing his failure to address lingering questions surrounding the 2017 film Real and its potential impact on Sulli's struggles.

Kim, 36, held a press conference on March 31, denying allegations that he dated actress Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor.
However, he did not acknowledge previous requests from Sulli's family for an explanation regarding Real, a film in which he starred alongside Sulli.
Following the press conference, Sulli's brother spoke to TV Report, expressing disappointment in Kim's remarks.
"Kim Soo Hyun's press conference was so predictable that it wasn't even surprising," he said, as quoted by Koreaboo.

"We watched it expressionlessly. Due to the controversy surrounding the late Kim Sae Ron, the media became noisy. There were many posts that seemed to refer to my sister's situation, which caused us stress. Seeing the struggles of Kim Sae Ron's family, we wanted to provide some support in any way possible. There's also personal frustrations we wanted to address."
He reiterated three main concerns regarding Real, particularly about Sulli's involvement in explicit scenes.
"First, the script was not fully finalized.
Second, there was a body double for the exposure scene, but they were reportedly unable to come to the set due to illness.
However, the double was actually on-site, and the scene was supposed to be filmed with them.
So why was the scene shot the way it was? We still don't have an answer."

Sulli, whose legal name was Choi Jin-ri, was a former member of the K-pop group f(x).
She passed away in 2019 in what was ruled as suicide following a prolonged struggle with cyberbullying and mental health challenges.
Her family has maintained that multiple factors contributed to her distress, though they have pointed to Real as one of the major controversies in her career.
"It cannot be definitively said that it was solely because of Real or Kim Soo Hyun," Sulli's brother said.
"It is a well-known fact that she suffered from malicious comments after the movie was released.
There were also personal aspects to her struggles.
We believe that director Lee Jung Sub holds the key points regarding Real.
Whether or not Gold Medalist will respond remains uncertain, but they should recognize that staying silent will have a negative impact."
Real was initially directed by Lee Jung Sub before the role was transferred to Lee Sa Rang—now known as Lee Ro Be—Kim Soo Hyun's cousin and co-founder of his agency, Gold Medalist.

The film gained notoriety for its explicit content, particularly scenes involving Sulli, who was transitioning from her idol career to acting at the time.
Neither Kim Soo Hyun nor Gold Medalist has responded to the latest remarks from Sulli's family.
