Miley Cyrus is not dating Kellan Lutz nor is she bashing Beyonce, but she is definitely the new face of Marc Jacobs and is now a fashion model. The fashion brand has officially released the first image from their new ad campaign starring the "Wrecking Ball" singer via their Twitter account.
In the picture, Cyrus seems to have taken a break from wagging her tongue as she appears to have put on a more somber look for the ad. Looking moody and brooding, she has a pinched forehead and a barely-there pout in the midst of a dark landscape. A dead-looking female model is beside her, while a long-haired male model stares into space in the background.
It's a far cry from the controversial pop star's current image, which involves twerking, foam fingers, and barely-there outfits. She is actually covered up in the ad, wearing a dark blue jacket, a burgundy bottom, and black-and-white sneakers, all of which feature intricate embroidery. Cyrus also released another version of the ad on her personal Twitter page with the caption, "MARC JACOBS SS14." In it, she's wearing sunglasses and posing with the same dead-looking girl in the background. She's covered up to her neck in this one, clad in a sheer, ruffly, goth-looking top with a Victorian collar. Nude lips and punked-out hair completed the edgy look.
The ads were photographed by David Sims and styled by Katie Grand. Versions other than the two that have been released haven't been announced, but the ads are set to come out in February magazine issues.
Cyrus has had a fashion relationship with designer Marc Jacobs for a while now. She wore a fishnet dress by him to the 2013 Met Gala, and has even allowed his brand to put her infamous nude image on a t-shirt in support of the NYU Skin Cancer Institute.
