Its "Batman vs Everyone" time again. We all know Batman can win any battle if he prepares for it but this he's fighting in a different battle. "Batman: Arkham Origins", the prequel to "Batman Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City" and "The Last of Us", The award winning Playstation 3 game from Naughty Dog, are among the various videogame scripts nominated for the "Outstanding Achievement in Videogame Writing" Award by the Writers Guild of America.
The other nominees are "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag","God of War: Ascension," and "Lost Planet 3."
This is the seventh year that the Writers Guild of America has honored videogame scripts in its annual awards ceremony. According to the wrap, To be eligible, games must have been released between Dec. 1, 2012 and Nov. 30, 2013, and must include on-screen writing credits. As usual for the Writers Guild of America, the work must have been done under guild jurisdiction, and the writers must have been (or must have applied to be) members of the Writers Guild of America Videogame Writers Caucus. Members of that caucus, and other Writers Guild of America members involved in videogame writing, make up the judging panel.
The Writers Guild of America Awards will be held on Feb. 1 in simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York.
