We've got some Ant-Man movie news for you! It has been confirmed that "Anchorman" star Paul Rudd is gonna portray the size-changing superhero "Ant-Man".

"When Edgar Wright came to us with the idea of Paul Rudd, we felt a huge sense of relief because the first step in creating any Marvel Studios film is finding the right star," said Marvel's Kevin Feige in a statement. "We knew early on that we had found the right person in Paul. When he not only agreed to do it but became as enthusiastic as any actor we'd ever met with about doing the work, we knew we'd found the right guy. We couldn't be more excited for our audiences to see what he's going to do to bring Ant-Man to life."

But "Ant-Man" director Edgar Wright hinted that Paul Rudd might not be the Hank Pym version of "Ant-Man".

In his official website Edgar Wright posted this picture with the title "Homework"

Fans noticed that the picture is a frame from Season 2 Episode 5 of "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" titled "To Steal An Ant-Man", which is the first appearance of Scott Lang as Ant-Man.

The story of the episode "To Steal An Ant-Man" introduces Heroes for Hire, Inc. consisting of superhero Luke Cage and Master Martial Artist The "Iron Fist" Danny Rand. They're hired by Hank Pym to find his stolen "Ant-Man" suit, as he doesn't want to get "The Avengers" involved. Scott Lang, a thief and electronics expert, is robbing banks with the stolen suit. It turns out Scott Lang is trying to save his daughter's life. He then becomes the second "Ant-Man".

It turns out that Edgar Wright had Scott Lang in mind for the movie for years now.

In an interview with the website Superherohype in 2006, Edgar Wright is quoted saying "The idea that we have for the adaptation is to actually involve both... Henry Pym and Scott Lang," and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige previously calling Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man" movie a "heist film," it seems likely that we might be seeing something similar to the cartoon episode, story-wise.

"Ant-Man" Hits theaters on 2015
