Glee's 100th episode will no doubt be special because Gwyneth Paltrow will be making a guest appearance. The blonde actress will once again be taking on the role of substitute teacher Holly Holliday for the two-part TV event, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Back in 2011, Paltrow actually won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in the three Glee episodes she appeared in. The head honcho of GOOP has also played the role in Glee's concert tour. It's no wonder that the actress is keen to step into her kooky onscreen persona's shoes yet again.
Paltrow will not be the only one going back to William McKinley High. Another blonde actress, Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, will also be reappearing as school alumna April Rhodes. Glee creator Ryan Murphy is said to also be inviting all original cast members back. That means Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones), Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray), Mark Saling (Noah 'Puck' Puckerman), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang), and Heather Morris (Brittany Pierce) - who have all "graduated" from the show - will be back for the celebration.
Glee's 100th episode will show Jane Lynch's character, Sue Sylvester, finally succeed in shutting down the glee club. The returning cast members would be saying their goodbyes to their beloved teacher Will Schuester (played by Matthew Morrison). The special will be featuring remixes of the top ten fan-requested Glee songs, which will be performed by the current cast (the latest members of New Directions). It will air on March 18 and 25 on Fox.
The New York Glee contingent won't be left out though. The show will be doing a series of episodes afterwards in the Big Apple, moving the spotlight to other cast members, including Lea Michele (Rachel Berry), Darren Criss (Blaine Anderson), Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel), Chord Overstreet (Sam Evans).
