There's good news for Lee Hongki's fans. The singer and actor has recovered faster than expected from the injuries he sustained on Dec. 16.

The actor and singer, who played Jeremy in "You're Beautiful" had a new drama and some concerts lined up in December. But when he slipped on the ice the day he dined with the drama's cast, he dislocated his shoulder and fractured some of the bones in his face. He had to cancel his Dec. 28th and 29th concerts with F.T. Island and it looked as if his participation in the drama "Hundred Year Bride" would have to wait for at least six weeks while his injuries healed.

But he recovered quickly. By January 10th he was on the set, cheerful and ready to act in the 16-episode fantasy melodrama. In this drama, the actor plays Choi Kang Joo, a second-generation chaebol and firstborn son of the Taeyang Group. He's a man who has it all, looks, skills and background, but his heart is frozen. Because of his first experience with love, Choi Kang Joo is distant and suspicious of all those around him. There's also a curse that says that the first brides of all the eldest sons of the Taeyang Group will die.

Yang Jin Sung will play his hopefully not doomed love interest. The actress played Ji Sung's short-lived first girlfriend in the melodrama "Secrets." So, she is now playing her second role as a girl taking a risky life-or-death chance on a chaebol. She will attempt to thaw his frozen heart with the help of a magical bracelet that makes the wearer more attractive.

The day Lee Hong Ki arrived on set to film the drama, it was almost as cold as his character's frozen heart. So the actor graciously dispensed heat packs to members of the production crew. He looked very sophisticated in his character's clothes that day. He wore a well-tailored black suit and had dyed his blondish hair back to black.

His activities with F.T. Island will also resume shortly. The band will continue their Asia Tour. They have plans to play in Shanghai on Feb. 22 and Taiwan on Feb. 26. They recently released their fifth mini album, "The Mood."

"Hundred Year Bride" will be Lee Hongki's first k-drama since the 2009 hit "You're Beautiful." He appeared in a Japanese drama "Muscle Girl" and a Korean-Japanese production "Noriko Goes To Seoul." He also appeared in the 2013 film "Passionate Goodbye" about a not-so-nice music star that has to volunteer in a hospice.

"Hundred Year Bride" will air in mid-February.
