Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition has been announced for PC digital download on Steam and retail.
According to the press release for the game, PC gamers will be able to play the survival horror game featuring the "highest visual fidelity ever with stunning HD running at a smooth 60 frames per second for the first time."
While this is technically true as the original RE4 release for PC had a frame rate cap of 30 fps, modders found a way to circumvent this frame rate cap allowing 60 or more fps for the PC version.
Fans also disagreed that Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition is really "Ultra HD" noting that the released screenshots for Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition are unimpressive and that a the original RE4 with mods look significantly better.
Though what trumps the original release is that Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition will have significantly improved keyboard and mouse support, something that even mods can't fix with the original RE4.
The Steam pre-order campaign is live and features the digital soundtrack and a digital artbook.
Resident Evil 4 will include Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Trading Cards, global leaderboards, and full game controller support and previously released bonus content such as the Separate Ways epilogue will be included.
Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition will be available on February 28 for $19.99/€19.99
