Gmail was down yesterday briefly as reports confirm Google's mail service was disrupted around the world.
According to news media, Google's email service used by businesses and online users stopped abruptly after a service outage.
The Verge reported Gmail, Google+, and Hangouts were all affected with connection problems.
Slower speed was observed on Google owned services including Google Docs, YouTube, and Google Drive. Adding to the problem, Google Play Music appeared to be completely shut down. An optimistic sign for Google users was its search engine and its home page, both working as usual.
Although Google's Apps Status Dashboard showed no disruptions on Saturday, it may take a while to ensure that Google has updated and fixed the problem.
Of course, Google rival Yahoo was quick to make notice of failed Google apps with a tweet, Gmail is temporarily unavailable pic.twitter.com/KLNxcQ9zUP - Yahoo (@Yahoo) January 24, 2014. Clicking on the link now says, 'Sorry, that page does not exist.'

Shortly after Google Gmail services resume, Yahoo tweeted this on their @Yahoo account:
Earlier today, a tweet that reflected bad judgment was posted and has been deleted. We apologize to @Google and the @Gmail team.
According to Mountainview, California-based Google's latest update on a blog post, the reason behind Google's Gmail, Google+...service disruption was explained: "At 10:55 AM PST this morning, an internal system that generates configurations-essentially, information that tells other systems how to behave-encountered a software bug and generated an incorrect configuration," Ben Traynor, Vice President of engineering wrote.
The blog post continued to read, "That configuration was pushed out and caused the outage - but the same system eventually corrected itself and pushed out a new, correct configuration 15 minutes or so later."
Google tweeted that its services including Gmail have resumed early morning on Saturday.
