Google glass over prescription glasses are now formally trendy. The CES trade show in Las Vegas may have something to do with exposing the product to the public. But even if it didn't, the Web has done a good job of circulating lots of pictures of the seemingly comfortable headgear worn by Levar Burton, a google glass designated member of the starship enterprise on Star Trek!

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has amazed once again with a leap to new pioneers in ophthalmology devices. Of course, a piece of glass on the side of a circle on your head is kind of weird if you're walking around, driving, or just reading.

Leave it to Google to come up with prescription glasses, trendy frames and sunglasses to go with its computerized head gear. In fact, reports on the rumor mill say that those who tried on the Google glass recommended using it on regular glasses. The transformation is phenomenal since it makes the wearer look more down to earth and makes the extraordinary invention by Google practical in every sense of the word.

That's how Google glass over prescription glasses came into play and it might be around for a while, provided that the price is right.

The idea is powered by collaborators, VSP Global, a service provider in the U.S. optical industry. Google Inc.'s Steve Lee, the product director of Google Glass said that the prescription Google glass over prescription glasses would suit a variety of consumer tastes.

He added, "We think they'll accommodate most people's tastes. Anybody who is familiar with the process of getting [an eyeglasses] prescription filled will be familiar with how you get prescription Glass," Opptrends reports.


Light titanium frames for $225 will be added to the original cost of $1500 for Google glass to provide styles in Thin, Split, Curve and Bold, according to Google Inc.The sunglasses will cost $150 and will feature Classic, Active and Edge.
