Android 4.4 KitKat update rumors abound on the Internet after its Nexus 5 launch in late October of 2013. After an announcement about the update in September, Google launched its Android 4.4 KitKat in November for a number of handsets but updates for other Smartphones up in the air. Sony, HTC, LG, Motorola, and Samsung smartphones are searching for updates to implement the Android 4.4 Kitkat.
Google made an incremental approach to delivering its update, with some enhancements still under the hoods. Essentially, the Android 4.4 KitKat is built around Android Jelly Bean, the previous Android sensation update for froyo 2.2 and Ice cream sandwich users, reports gottabemobile.com.
Right after Android 4.4 Kitkat launch, Google pushed its updates for its models Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10. Intriguingly, these are some of the few models that have seen the updates in action. It appears that the highly anticipated is having problems with high end phones.
One criticism against Android 4.4 Kitkat is that big name phone players were eager to
initiate a launch for the new OS, but the roll outs were not forthcoming. The models include smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. The missing roll out in these models are making consumers more curious and they are asking more questions about it.
The Android 4.4 Kitkat made its debut on Nexus 5 with a 16GB handset selling for $350 in October of last year, while the touted update on other smartphones is still a conundrum. The weird part about Kitkat is that its releases have been announced incrementally and through various sources on the Net.
Digitaltrends combined these pop-up announcements: 02-03-2014 by Andy: "HTC One owners connected to Sprint should find an Android 4.4 KitKat update waiting for them very soon, while One phones connected to other networks shouldn't be too far behind. HTC has also confirmed it's working on an update for the Droid DNA."
Google has decided to let Verizon Moto X in on the action while Nexus hardware, Nexus 4 smartphone, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablet will also receive some of the choco-licious' goodness!
