'The Wolf of Wall Street' duo of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill are set to team-up once again in a film adaptation based on Marie Brenner's 1997 Vanity Fair article, titled "The Ballad of Richard Jewell," as 20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to begin scheduling the film.
It tells the story of Richard Jewell, a security guard who is falsely accused of being a suspect bomber during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Jonah Hill will star as Jewell while Leonardo DiCaprio will play his attorney who guided Hill's character through his high-profile legal proceedings, which ended with the FBI clearing his name three months after the bombing.
DiCaprio will produce via his Appian Way banner along with Jennifer Davisson Killoran, as well as Hill and Misher Films own Kevin Misher. Andy Berman will also have a producing role.
Brenner's work at Vanity Fair has been optioned for film before, as she also wrote the source material that became Michael Mann's "The Insider."
Known for his comedy roles in Super Bad, 21 Jump Street, Get Him to the Greek and This is the End. Hill proved he could hang with the big boys when it comes to big roles such as Money Ball and The Wolf of Wall Street earning both Oscar nominations.
As for DiCaprio his performance in the film has put him back in the Oscar race, will this year be his meal ticket to finally receive an Oscar.
Will the duo's magic work again and will it top both their performances in "The Wolf of Wall Street", will find out more soon.
