Samsung Galaxy S5 Active release date is coming soon as rumors speculated the Korean mobile maker is looking at several phones for launch, not just the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 will roll out with two versions, the Samsung Galaxy Active and the Samsung Galaxy Zoom on launch date. It's hardly a surprise that Samsung conetemplates the release of three new phones this year. Apple had two phones released late last year, and one awaits release in Mid 2014 - the much anticipated iPhone 6.
Perhaps Samsung's strategy is to release three new phones ahead of iPhone 6, but the tactic was used during the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch as well. It too had an Active and Zoom models strutting a rugged Active look and the other sporting a Camera fine focus phone. In a distant comparison, these two versions may be comparable to the iPhone 5S, which is a classic model vs. the iPhone 5c which is more rugged for active users.
According to reports by ETNews, a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active was spotted on queue for release with the Korean website citing sources close to the story. The Galaxy S5 Active will replace the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and is slated to sell more than its S4 predecessor. While the S4 Active sold a mere 4%, Samsung is targeting 20-30% of sales with the S5 Active.
Though an official release date is not avaialable, a speculated guess is directed toward February 24, when a Samsung unpacked 5 event is scheduled on the same day as the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.
