"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 has been a bit lackluster as fans are voicing out that the quality of the early and recent episodes of season 9 are poor. But it seems that a new criticism of "How I Met Your Mother" season 9 has surfaced as it begs the question "does HIMYM advocate cheating on relationships?"
It is no secret that long-time fans of "How I Met Your Mother" are becoming a displeased with the quality of the show and that they take the time to talk about the supposed faults of "How I Met Your Mother" season 9.
When fans analyzed Ted and his feelings for Robin, they quickly realized that Ted has a disturbing amount of feelings of love for Robin and wondered "with Ted being one of the main characters and a 'moral compass' on the show, is it possible that HIMYM is hinting that it is ok to be deeply in 'romantic' love with another person while being in a relationship?"
They reasoned that in light of recent revelations in "How I Met Your Mother", Ted has always been in love with Robin even though he had been involved in serious relationships after breaking up with Robin.
User "gurimmjaw" posted on Reddit, "Ted being secretly in love with Robin (while being in a relationship with other women) is pretty disgusting and unfair to the women he has been serious with. Holy shit! He was going to marry Stella while still loving Robin? That whiny F**k deserved to get stood up at the altar"
After being with Stella, Ted also had a serious relationship with Zoey. Fans noted that while he was dating Zoey he was secretly in love with Robin too.
But is being in love with somebody else while being in a relationship actually cheating?
While there are no definite conditions on cheating as people define cheating in a number of ways as "you are only cheating if you start to flirt or kiss or have sex" but being in love with another person while being in a relationship is included on some people's list. But one thing is for sure that according to some "How I Met Your Mother" fans, what Ted has done is unfair to the women involved in his past relationships.
