Android 4.4 KitKat update has been long anticipated, particularly by users who need a fix for their Samsung Galaxy S4, hit by a variety of problems including email deletions, wifi connectivity and the 'black screen of death.'
An additional Android 4.3 JellyBean update was used to fix the Galaxy S4 problems, but they have not helped and users are expecting the KitKat to finally kick in some fixings for their S4.
Apart from a fix for the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Android 4.4 KitKat update comes with featured security enhancements, cloud printing and bluetooth profiles. According to cnet.com, ten phones are slated for an upgrade to KitKat:

These models with targeted model numbers are linked to their carriers and capacity for updates. As time progresses there will be more models updated. The models above are exclusively Galaxy S3 on AT&T. However, other U.S. carriers are due for some KitKat very soon.
So far, the Galaxy Note 3 in Poland is the only model to receive an update. Most of the updates listed are for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note families. In general U.S, updates follow international upgrades, so news of an update in Korea spells good news for American Samsung owners.
An iTechAddict report said that a Samsung Galaxy 3 Android 4.4 KitKat Update is targeted for April, while another source, Android Geeks reported that it will be available in March. Phandroid too confirmed an update for Samsung Galaxy S3, but was not clear about the release date.
Despite high expectations, bear in mind that Samsung has yet to update its Android Jellybean 4.3 to several variants. Reports say that the 4.4 could arrive earlier than Jelly Bean update. With an 'Unpack event' scheduled on Feb. 24th, the opening day of MWC 2014 Barcelona, you'll never know what Samsung might surprise us with.
