Android 4.4 update release dates are ongoing as you read this article. Verizon has initiated a roll out for its HTC model.
HTC project management director, Mo Versi said that Android 4.4.2 for Verizon HTC was approved for the update. Updates were available later on the same day, according to ibtimes.
The update comes on the heels of a delay after the 4.4 update was due for release in January.
In earlier reports, Sprint HTC One received the 4.4 manual download download along with Canadian models.
The build 3.11.605.1 targeted for Verizon HTC one users comes with HTC Sense 5.5 UI and an upgradedd Blink Feed for HTC. This translates to a easier access to menu and a pinch-in for switching off Blink Feed.
Enhancements are also presnet on loaction settings, lock screen, music app and gallery.
The update comes with a new 'Do Not Disturb' feature which enables shutting down settings to the 'off' position for more privacy and less distraction.
The OTA update requires Wifi for downloading and consumers can check for manual KitKat updates by clicking on access settings, about phone and then software updates.
