During a Monday interview with Samuel L. Jackson, Hollywood reporter Sam Rubin caught fire when confusing the actor for fellow thespian Lawrence Fishburne.
While Jackson was on the show to advertise his upcoming film "Robocop," Rubin asked him if he got any reactions from his Super Bowl commercial. However, that particular commercial featured Fishburne, not Jackson.
"What Super Bowl commercial?" asked Jackson. " You're as crazy as the people on Twitter. I'm not Laurence Fishburne!"
Although Rubin apologized and tried to go on to the next topic, Jackson made certain that he would give the reporter a piece of his mind.
"We don't all look alike! We may be all black and famous, but we don't all look alike!" said Jackson. "You're the entertainment reporter for this station, and you don't know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne?"
In honor of Black History Month, Jackson gave Rubin a quick lesson on who is who in black cinema.
"I'm the other guy, 'what's in your wallet,' I'm that guy. There's more than one black guy doing a commercial. I'm the 'what's in your wallet black guy, he's the car commercial black guy, Morgan Freeman is the other credit card black guy. You only hear his voice though, so you probably won't confuse him with Laurence Fishburne," he said. ""And I've actually never done a McDonald's or a Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial – I know that's surprising."
After being scolded by the "Pulp Fiction" star, Rubin issued another apology on air. See below:
