"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" has officially started production in Johannesburg, South Africa. Because of the location, fans speculate that they are shooting scenes of the fabled African land, Wakanda, the home of the Black Panther.
According to The Independent Online, the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" production crew had started to set up in Johannesburg to film "action photography sequences" for the movie.
There were rumors circulating that the South African city was going to fill in for a classic Marvel Comics location, Wakanda, home of the Black Panther. But ComicBookMovie reports that the Gauteng Film Commission stated that the city will "play" itself on screen, and that the first 10 minutes of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will actually take place in Johannesburg.
Desmond Mthembu said "The great thing about this movie is that they are shooting Johannesburg as Johannesburg. Often you will find filmmakers will shoot in Johannesburg and portray the location as Los Angeles. This time around, the first 10 minutes of the film will be of Johannesburg."
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" will have production shoots in South Korea and Italy as well.
"The Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be directed by "Avengers" director Joss Whedon and the original "Avengers" cast will return with Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson as The Black Widow. The sequel has added Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Ultron will be voiced by James Spader in the "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Thomas Kretschmann has been cast as Baron Wolfgang von Strucker.
"The Avengers: Age Of Ultron" will open on May 1, 2015.
