It looks like "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons will add another notch to his belt as he was just announced as the host of the March 1 episode of "Saturday Night Live"!
NBC and Saturday Night Live announced that Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons will host with musical guest Beck.
Jim Parsons will host Saturday Night Live with musical guest Beck on March 1 when the late night comedy show returns with live shows on March 1. The announcement was made on SNL's official Twitter account!
Jim Parsons is best known for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper on the CBS hit show The Big Bang Theory. Parson's breakout role as Sheldon has won him three Outstanding Lead Actor in A Comedy Series Emmy Awards over the years.
Aside from his "SNL" hosting gig, Jim Parsons also talked about the recent "Big Bang Theory" episode in which Sheldon kissed Amy in which he says is a pivotal moment in the "Big Bang Theory" and the "ShAmy" relationship.
"When the relationship agreement was laid out, there were no parameters for a kiss," Parsons says, reflecting that the kiss with Amy initially "came out of anger."
Still, "the viewers, as well as me, were left to assume that he enjoyed it once he got there," Parsons says. "Unexpectedly, unpremeditated, but once those lips landed together, he was like, 'This is not bad.'"
"It's undeniable that there's been change, and there's been growth," he says of his character. "This is new territory."
He then teased that there will be more to romance moments between Sheldon and Amy or "ShAmy" in future "Big Bang Theory" episodes!
"This is exciting because it opens up new doors for future stories and we plan to make some" said Jim Parsons.
