When "You Who Came From The Stars" ends soon there will be a new lineup of dramas to compete for the top spot. And netizens are already taking bets on which star will rule the ratings.
It's an impressive lineup, with Park Yoochun starring in "Three Days," Joo Sang Wook playing a divorced CEO in "Cunning Single Lady" and Kim Hyun Joong as a battle scarred street fighter in the currently running "Inspiring Generation."
Park Yoochun has a loyal fan base, both as a member of the band JYJ and as an actor in "Rooftop Prince," "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," "Miss Ripley" and "Missing You." His last drama, "Missing You," averaged a healthy 10 percent in the ratings. In his new drama, he will play a presidential bodyguard who will have to solve the mystery of the president's disappearance. Previews of the drama show it to be tense and action filled. And there might be some romance as Park Yoochun's co-stars will be actresses Park Ha Sun and So E Hyun.
Joo Sang Wook has appeared over a dozen dramas, including "Special Affairs Team 10," "Feast of the Gods" and "Thorn Birds." He will soon have a cameo in "I Need Romance 3." He last played a doctor and department head in the medical drama "Good Doctor" which had ratings over 20 percent. In his upcoming drama, "Cunning Single Lady," he plays a man whose marriage breaks up when nothing else in his life is going well. When he manages to create a successful business, his ex-wife, played by Lee Min Jung, decides she was too quick to divorce him. There's plenty of potential for romantic comedy in this situation.
Kim Hyun Joong, playing the macho Shin Jung Tae in "Inspiring Generation" achieved ratings of over 10 percent against the mega-hit "You Who Came From The Stars." It came in ahead of the competing drama "Miss Korea," which starred Lee Sun Kyun and Lee Yeon Hee. In a dramatic makeover of his screen persona, Kim Hyun Joong successfully presented an image unlike his previous appearances in "Playful Kiss" or "Boys Over Flowers." As a singer and an actor, Kim Hyun Joong also has a huge following and critics say his acting improves with every episode.
Each of these actors is talented, attractive and has a sizable fan base.
