According to news reports, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has begun getting updated with Android 4.4.2.

Customers would need 1GB of space to install and update Android 4.4. KitKat.

GT-I9500 based on Exynos is likely to be the initial version to be updated, however, the Snapdragon 600-operating on I9505 will also get the Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Incidentally, Russia and India sells more 19500 models than any other country and they are the first ones to get it - something that is quite rare.

According to Zeenews, Android 4.4 KitKat is launched in phases and more updates will hit more countries soon.

Following the update, users can experience Location Menu, better lockscreen, dedicatied camera shortcut, minor UI updates, upgraded Google apps, and improved stability.

A number of Samsung Galaxy models are being updated with Android 4.4 KitKat update. This comes on the heels of Samsung's official announcements about the rollout.

In the U.S. cellular Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 are receiving the update.
