Gionee Elife S5.5 has unveiled its slimmest smartphone at 5.5mm.

Chinese smartphone maker, Gionee unveiled its slimmest smartphone, called Gionee Elife S5.5.

With a depth of 5.5mm thickness, the handset is the thinnest smartphone.

The smartphone may be pre-ordered on the Gionee company page, at approximately $370.

Gionee Elife S5.5 is a step above Vivo X3 smartphone, with a thickness of 5.75mm, and is lot trimmer than Xperia Z Ultra which is 6.5mm thick.

The Elife S5.5 packs up power worth a 1.7GHz quad-core CPU combined with 2GB RAM. The camera for this phone comes with various options of the handset and this translates to into a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls.

It's absolutely amazing how this phone is able to pack in adequate battery power to maintain its slim profile.

The 3G model of Elife S5.5 is ready for pre-order in China and the launch will expand to more than countries.

Gionee released 2 brand new Android smartphones in India, the Gionee M2 and the Gionee Gpad G4 - these are priced at Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 18,999 respectively . The.dual sim phones built for the Indian market [dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphones] operate on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. They are.also available for purchase.

Gionee also released Elife E7 Mini last December and the phone has a price tag of Rs. 18,999. At the moment, Gionee has not announced detail about the availability of the Elife E7 Mini and the release date for India.

According to Engadget, the LTE version of the slimphone will launch in June.
