MWC 2014 rumors are rounding ahead of the mobile mega event in Barcelona on Monday, February 24th , where the stage is ready to exhibit brand new smartphones, tabs and other interesting tech gizmos. You might call it a strictly 'mobile device' segment of the trade show that took place in Las Vegas in January, the CES International.
The big majors launching new phones will be at MWC 2014 Barcelona: Apple, BlackBerry, HTC, LG, Nokia, Samsung and Sony. Some of the new launches are already on the Internet rumor mill - the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Lumia 929, Apple iPhone 6 and many more.
Most analysts leave out the Apple iPhone 6 from an impending launch because Apple might take longer to complete its crystal displays, and flexible designs on the next iPhone.
Sony is likely to use the MWC 2014 Barcelona event to release its flagship phone - most likely the Xperia Z2, codenamed Sirius running on Android KitKat and a Quad HD 2k res 5.2" phablet range screen.
The Japanese electronics giant has released a 15-sec. teaser dubbed "Something Extraordinary Is Coming From Sony." Although there isn't a content in the mostly red colored teaser, it suggests Sony is trying to make MWC watchers 'gogoo' over the release of the Sony Xperia Z2, which has been dubbed 'Sirius.'
The Sirius is rumored for a launch at MWC 2014 and is touted to house a whopping 20 megapixel camera with a 5.2 inch screen. The Sirius smartphone is to be accompanies by the Xperia Z2 tablet, sporting a Snapdragon 800 processor, 8MP rear-facing camera 3GB of RAM, and a 6.4mm waterproof housing.
It has been a while since HTC has made mention of new phones, but it's all the more likely that it will use the Barcelona event to launch a HTC One 2, which might be a strong competitor for Apple's iPhone 6 when it is finally unveiled. In the meantime, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will give the HTC One 2 a run for its money.
LG surprised with a flagship G2 last year bringing mini phones back in vogue. Reports say that the mini version of the G2 could be released at the MWC 2014.
