Samsung Unpacked 2014 live stream was an extraordinary event put together by Korean smartphone maker Samsung on Monday, the opening day of the MWC in Barcelona.

The invitation only event, 'Unpacked 2014' was publicized a few weeks earlier and rumors have been piling up about the impending release of the touted flagship phone the Samsung Galaxy S5, which will take the place of its predecessor as Samsung's premier handset in the phone maker's Galaxy line.

Samsung's website broadcast the special event live stream from Barcelona as Samsung watchers eagerly awaited the launch or at least more info about the probable release of the highly anticipated 'New Galaxy' S5.

Prior to the MWC 2014 Barcelona, Samsung had released a teaser video detailing taglines linked to the Samsung Galaxy S5.

One reason for the suspense is that a smartphone from Samsung is long overdue since its arch rival Apple had unveiled the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in late 2013.
Looking ahead, Apple does not debut its handsets at the MWC, but is slated to out the next version of its iconic iPhone, the iPhone 6 sometime in the second half of 2014. So, this would be an opportune time for the release of a new Samsung flagship.

Apart from that, consumers have been disappointed with the performance on the Samsung Galaxy S4, since it had a host of issues with its Android 4.3 Jellybean OS. Users of Galaxy S4 were looking forward to an Android 4.4 KitKat update to clear the problems on the S4 - i.e. email deletions and WiFi connectivity - but it's not sure if owners of the Galaxy S4 have been able to get their hands on the KitKat update. A roll out of the update has begun in Europe, Canada, U.S. and Asia.

The 'Unpacked5'event began at 2pm EST with a backdrop of classical music by the Barcelona Opera House Chamber orchestra, in line with Samsung's extravagant showing in New York last year, when it released the Galaxy S4.

'Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 1' began as scheduled on Feb. 24 in Barcelona from Center Conventions International Barcelona (CCIB). The Samsung website also said it would unveil next-generation mobility products.

Most analysts had the impression that barring a serious impediment to Samsung's plans, the S5 would be launched.

After the music faded, voices set against a blue-lit stage said, "I know I am not a photographer, but my photos are amazing."

Another person said, "I express myself it in my unique way."

Samsung's E Head David Park hit the stage with the introduction, mobile communicating devices change the way our lives change and give rise to new exciting opportunities with innovative devices that enhance daily life.

JK Shin, president and CEO of Samsung Mobile takes the stage next welcoming Samsung watchers to Barcelona, hometown of innovation.

Shin makes a statement that industry sets the standard for what comes next.

He thanked Galaxy S consumers and said consumers want faster,simpler and productive inspirations, which could be described as one step further evolution.

As Shin begins the presentation for the Samsung Galaxy S5, the crowd roars as they finally meet face-to-face with the S5.

Shin walks the audience through the specs indicating the performance on the s5 smartphone offers a stable connection through LTE and WiFi. The camera is HDR for rich color pictures.

The improved user experience on the s5's new resources will help people stay up to date, said Shin.

Yes, as rumors had it the Galaxy S5 is in fact waterproof, dust proof and offers Knox technology and the new flagship stays connected to the Gear 2 smartwatch.
Another highlighted feature was the ultra power saving mode, which turns the handset into a black and white phone and blocks sms.

Bear in mind water proof does not mean water resistant, so don't keep the phone immersed in liquid. But certainly you can use the S5 to play background music in the shower.

The S5 colors will coincide with the color expressions of the person using it and it will allow for mobile payments, including paypal.

The Galaxy Gear device took a large chunk of the Samsung presentation with the Korean phone maker emphasizing visual style with personal lifestyle and connectivity.

The Gear 2 and the Neo manage lives using features like fitness, checking heart rate while exercising, getting updates and missed calls from phone.

The Gear 2 were touted as iconic design styles on the go and an inspiration of Samsung's commitment toward its vision.

Samsung reiterated its commitment by going through the five basics that consumers wan most.

VP of European telecommunications Jean-Daniel Ayme took over after Shin said he would discuss details of the S5 on Tuesday.

The choice for consumers is simple according to Samsung: a great camera, staying fit, security and privacy. Ayme hyped that the S5 is dynamically versatile from am to night.

The back cover has a perforated design, which will reduce overheating and the S5 he was holding was a electric blue gold. Samsung would also be adding designer covers to the S5's.

The specs for the Samsung Galaxy S5 include an 5.1" Amoled display. adaptive display or enhanced disply technology which enables natural light to be optimized to reduce use of battery and longer battery life.

The camera is one of the most advanced features of the S5. It has a fast hdr rich tone, selective focus,PDAF, hybrid 16MP sensor, covers moving subjects and takes good pictures using hdr in little or too much light.
