Samsung Unpacked5 2014 CEO J K Shin Samsung Speech made a quick speech at the stunning event with plenty of highs and applause from the audience.
Several tech portals have reported that while the rumors about the waterproof and dustproof handset was true, the Galaxy S5 did not quite match the expectations of the consumer.
Samsung CEO Shin's job was to convince the audience that what consumers really wanted was five things: physical design, high-quality cameras, faster and seamless connectivity, and a phone that can help them stay fit.
It's not clear if these are the criteria that consumers are looking for, particularly in the new Galaxy S5. But consumers got the feeling Samsung was pushing for a lifestyle phone that just wasn't there.
"Our consumers do not want eye-popping technology or the most complex technology," said J.K. Shin, Samsung's head of information technology and the mobile communications division. "Our consumers want durable design and performance. Our consumers want a simple, yet powerful camera."

Senior analyst at research firm Ovum, Nick Dillon said, "Samsung is betting big on wellness, fingerprint reading and camera autofocus, while keeping a very similar look and feel for its hardware and software," adding, "the updates are so minor that on first glance most consumers would be hard pressed to notice that it has changed from the previous version."
One thing Samsung did not mention during the Unpacked 2014 event was that rumors hinted at releasing two phones, similar to the Apple release of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c.
In terms of the wow-factor, there was little or no 'wow' to factor into the Samsung Galaxy S5 and by time Apple comes out with iPhone 6 later this year we'll have to wait and see to ascertain if the S5 is worth buying.
