Award-winning singer Miley Cyrus and prom date Matt Peterson may not have danced at the high school prom, but the infamous twerker serenaded the teenager on stage last Thursday, Feb. 27. For those who don't know who Peterson is, he is the guy that posted a viral video on YouTube asking the 21-year old singer to be his date to his prom. Wearing nothing except a 'number one' hand sign and holding a bouquet of roses, Peterson wrote under his video, "Miley, I have been a fan of yours from the beginning." He added, "You've changed my life, and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life. In order to do that, allow me to take you to my Prom on May 3, 2014."

Unfortunately, the singer declined his invitation and said, "Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage." Cyrus lived up to her word and made the 17-year old fan's dream come true. During her show in Phoenix, Arizona, the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker serenaded Peterson by dedicating her romantic song "Adore You" to him.

The crowd went wild seeing Miley Cyrus and prom date Peterson doing sweet gestures on stage. The lucky high schooler gave the pop singer a corsage as he promised on his video. The shirtless teener was caressed and embraced by Cyrus all throughout the song. She even made fun of ex-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth by saying, "I was in this position once before and it didn't work out too well -- the last time a guy got on one knee for me." She added, "Hopefully this will be better."

Miley Cyrus and prom date definitely spread love in the concert venue as the crowd start kissing each other as it flashes on the wide screen. Peterson shared to E! News how he felt that night, "It's been insane! I don't want to sleep because it feels surreal." Here's a video posted by Max Stein:
