The Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer has been released - the first full one showing the same Transformers, but with an entirely new cast and some new robots to boot. The release gave a comprehensive preview for the film, no doubt designed to get audiences used to all the changes in the franchise.

This fourth Transformers movie is still headed up by the same director, Michael Bay, and still features the beloved Autobots, such as Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. However, Shia LaBeouf, who starred in the first three movies, isn't the movie's main man anymore. As Bay explained in previous interviews, he was doing to stop doing Transformers after three movies because it's hard to keep it up with the same characters.

LaBeouf, who has also been reported to have had differences with the director, has been replaced by Mark Wahlberg, who plays Cade Yeager, a father trying to keep his daughter, Tessa Yeager, safe. The trailer opened with Wahlberg bringing home a rusty old truck to his daughter at a farm, intending to fix it up. It quickly moves on to him discovering that it wasn't any old truck, and that it was in fact a Transformer. Mysterious men in black descend on the farm, and Optimus Prime rolls out in all his rusty glory.

Cut-scenes show a lot of action, proclaiming that a new era has begun and the Age of the Transformers is over. Stanley Tucci succinctly says, "Don't you get it? We don't need you anymore." Villains arrive of course, including head Decepticon, Megatron. Then new robots come into view. The Dinobots are making their debut in the franchise, and the trailer offered a glimpse of fan favorite Grimlock, getting a beating from Optimus Prime.

Transformers: Age of Extinction no doubt offers audiences a taste of the familiar, with beloved robots and the same explosive action. However, the trailer shows a slight refresh for the franchise with the introduction of new Transformers. The film will be in theaters come June 2014.
