Elisabeth Moss' marriage revelations about her brief time with ex-husband Fred Armisen just came out. The Mad Men star has opened up to New York magazine about her very short marriage to the former Saturday Night Live actor.
In the interview, she said, "It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible. At the same time, it turned out for the best. I'm glad I'm not there. I'm glad it didn't happen when I was 50. I'm glad I didn't have kids. And I got that out of the way. Hopefully. Like, that's probably not going to happen again."
"Looking back, I feel like I was really young, and at the time I didn't think I was that young," she added.
Moss and Armisen were only married for eight months. They actually met in October 2008 through Moss' Mad Men co-star, Jon Hamm, who had a hosting gig for Saturday Night Live and had Moss as a guest for some sketches. Moss and Armisen started dating afterwards and got engaged only a few months after in January 2009. They got married a year after they met in October 2009, in Long Island City, New York, but by August 2010, they were already reported to have been separated for months. In fact, they separated in June of that year, after eight months of wedded life. Moss was the one who filed for divorce in September 2010, and it was finalized in May 2011.
Armisen was actually the first of the couple to talk about their very short, failed marriage. He revealed on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show that he was to blame for the breakup. When Stern mentioned Moss hating Armisen, the actor agreed. "I imagine so. I think I was a terrible husband, I think I'm a terrible boyfriend. I feel bad for everyone I've ever gone out with. I want it all -- fast. I want to be married -- the amount of girls I've lived with right away - and then somewhere around a year, two years, I get freaked out."
