Xiaomi Mi2 update reveals 15 million sales of the M12 smartphones.


Xiaomi, who developed the MIUI ROM for Android is enjoying tremendous success with their MI smartphones.
In September last year, Xiaomi said it's MI2 sales reached the 10 million mark.


A few months later, Xiaomi formally announced that the MI2 has hit the 15 million mark. After reaching the 15 million milestone Xiaomi said they would slash prices on their 16GB MI2 phone from $280 to $210.
Xiaomi will continue to sell its larger 32GB variant for $290.


Following the acquisition of Hugo Barra from Google, the company has been selling their smartphones in the international market in countries like Singapore in East Asia.


According to IDC's forecast of the Chinese market, China's smartphone market is a crucial marketplace for OEMs in 2014. IDC forecasts the Chinese market could go as high as 450 million units in 2014.


Xiaomi continues to enjoy widespread popularity over Apple and overtook market share figures in October 2013.
Antutu benchmark website recently published the specs for the Xiaomi Mi4 flagship phone which features top of the line hardware. Subsequently, the Mi4 is a big name in smartphones on the Android platform.


According to PhoneArena, the Xiaomi Mi4 1080p resolution display phone has the same processor as the recently released Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One 2.

Mi4 houses a 2.46GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU 800 CPU. Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 13GB of built-in storage. The Mi4 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, with a 8-megapixel front cam.The phone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and it's possible that the Mi4 might release on the Android 4.4 KitKat update.


Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder, who owns the Mi3, is a huge proponent of making big name smartphones in China and selling it overseas. He believes that's where the future of the smarphone market is. Wozniak recently co-signed on the Mi3's ability to meet the standards of high-end phones sold in America.


"Xiaomi's MI3 launched in October 2013 offers a compelling mix of features with a 5 inch screen and an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, outgunning the iPhone 5C on pretty well every measure consumers care about," reports seeking alpha.


Wozniak said in an online report, "Xiaomi has excellent products. They're good enough to break the American market."
