MTV Movie Awards 2014 recently announced that Mark Wahlberg will receive the Generation Award. This is like Grammy's Hall of Fame Award and Academy Awards' Lifetime Achievement Award so getting one is a big deal!
After announcing that the comedian Conan O'Brien will host this year's MTV Movie Awards, the music channel company dropped another big name - and that is Mark Wahlberg. According to MTV president Stephen Friedman, "Mark Wahlberg is the definition of a modern day Renaissance Man: from Dirk Diggler to 'The Departed,' 'The Basketball Diaries' to 'Ted,' 'Entourage' to 'The Fighter,' in front of the camera and behind -- he's done it all and he's always memorable."
Friedman added, "Mark has captivated the MTV audience for over 20 years, and for this rare feat, we're proud to recognize him with this year's Generation Award." The 42-year old actor has been featured in this awards show in the past years. In fact, he was the mastermind of a string of online dating hoaxes together with Joe Manganiello and Anna Kendrick. They fooled Nev and Max of the popular MTV reality TV show "Catfish".
Even if Mark Wahlberg didn't win at the Oscars, the actor will get one of the most prestigious awards at the MTV Movie Awards 2014. The cast of the famous television series "Entourage" will be there to present the Generation Award to Wahlberg, who is also the executive producer of the award-winning show.
Fans of the "Entourage" must be excited to find out about this latest news because this will be the first time that the cast will reunite after the series ended in 2011. The actor/producer will be joined by Kevin Dillon, Adrian Grenier, Jerry Ferrara, and Kevin Connolly. This is your chance to see them together again before the "Entourage" movie will be released in 2015.
Here's a teaser of Mark Wahlberg receiving the Generation Award. Watch out for the MTV Movie Awards 2014 on Sunday, April 13.
