On Grey's Anatomy's latest episode called "Throwing It All Away", both Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins faced an emotionally difficult day, but as for Arizona, it was a physically tough day as well. The previous episodes and seasons have shown both characters being strong and holding on to each other no matter what trials they face.
Just like the surgeons on the hit TV series might have felt, fans have also reacted aggressively on the non-fraternizing policy issued on the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital due to the anonymous complaint filed by a resident surgeon. This event had caused couples to panic, particularly Jo Wilson (who is a resident surgeon) and Alex Karev and secretly married couple Jackson Avery and April Kepner. On the last week's episode, both couples have admitted to their relationship, but Alex raged regarding the issue and said that he doesn't want to talk about his personal life. He also made a point that his colleagues built their relationships in the hospital and he doesn't care even if he gets punished while being in a relationship with his subordinate.
Last night's episode, Chief Owen Hunt had delivered the news to Karev that he will have a 3 day suspension from surgery which made him even angrier and sought help from his good friend Meredith Grey since he already had a scheduled surgery for his long-time pediatric patient. He even made an idea which will make the course of treatment for the patient less invasive. The surgery was given to Arizona Robbins who asked Miranda Bailey to assist her. But, Robbins got in an accident and broke her prosthetic leg. Bailey proceeded with the surgery together with another general surgeon, Meredith Grey who felt bad because it was as if she stole the surgery from her friend Karev.
Just like Karev, Arizona also received a bad news from Chief Hunt saying she needed to report to HR because of the resident who filed a complaint who was also her ex-girlfriend. She made her statement and found out that the complaint wasn't against her at was against her wife Callie. She delivered the news to her and made Callie very frustrated because she had a very bad day when her patient for a long time refuses to undergo surgery and just wanted her to legs to be amputated and when her partner in research, Derek Shepherd, wanted to stop because conflicts aroused when he accepted a job from the White House.
Arizona had trouble being herself after the plane crash which made her changed a lot. She said that before she was happy, she woke up happy, and she was someone who used to skate at work and now it all happened and felt like it didn't fit her anymore and wanted to tear it all down and start all over and find a life that'll fit who she is now. And now, she is starting to feel like I know who she is again and she had to give up things, and what she'd learned was she doesn't need much to be happy, or even two legs, but she does know that she needs Callie and their daughter Sofia. Callie walked out of the room and Arizona cried hard, but when Callie returned she brought Arizona's skater shoes and said you shouldn't have to give up anything. And they went out in the middle of the night, Callie holding Arizona tight and running around with her skates on.
