Fans of DreamWorks Animation are all wondering what the company is up to this 2014? Aside from the much-awaited animated films How To Train Your Dragon 2 and Home, the company recently announced that they will release three new original series: Puss in Boots, King Julien, and Veggie Tales in the House.

The tie-up between DreamWorks Animation and Netflix was finalized last summer and included in their deal was producing 300 hours of exclusive programs that were based on the characters created by DWA. Based on reports, this was the biggest deal that Netflix had for original content.

DreamWorks Animation's offering for 2014 also include five new episodes of Turbo Fast. This series was based on the animated film Turbo, which was a story about racing snails. The animated series was launched last Dec. 25 and will again return on April 4 for five more episodes. I'm sure that got all the speed freak snail fans excited.

So what will the three new original series be all about? Let's start with Puss in Boots, which is about the adventures of the swashbuckling cat. The character was featured in the Shrek film franchise and known for its sympathetic look.

King Julien, on the other hand, appeared in Madagascar and the series will revolve around the famous lemur. The new series Veggie Tales in the House will give new recipes for faith-based values dished out by the anthropomorphic vegetables.

According to the DWA's head of TV, Margie Cohn, "We could not be having more fun as we create this content for Netflix." She revealed, "Each show is so diverse and the platform gives us so many opportunities to play with our characters in new and surprising ways." Cohn added, "Our goal is to keep the audience always wondering what we'll come up with next."

Netflix's VP of original content, Cindy Holland, also has good things to say about their new partner. She said, "DreamWorks Animation has an incredible knack for creating characters that kids around the world adore. We're very excited to launch the new episodes of 'Turbo FAST' in the coming weeks, and the three new series by the end of the year."

That puts DreamWorks Animation on top of the cartoon-loving fans' list for 2014 since Pixar wasn't able to give any offering this year. Are you excited about the upcoming original series?
