20th Century Fox is pretty confident in their X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises that they have green lit sequels for X-men, Fantastic Four and Wolverine franchises and they announced a "Mystery" Marvel film for 2018 leading to speculations that it will be the X-Men, Fantastic Four crossover movie!
According to the Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox has announced a release date for a Fantastic Four movie before the first has even begun shooting.
The studio announced The Fantastic Four 2 will open July 14, 2017, while an untitled Wolverine film will open March 3, 2017. Fox has also slated an untitled Marvel film for July 13, 2018.
Fox owns the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, so the mystery 2018 Marvel film could draw from either of those. It's not unthinkable that the project might even be a crossover between the two.
20th Century Fox denied planning an X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover movie in the past but the recent hype for "X-Men Days of Future Past" and "X-Men Apocalypse" may have changed some minds in 20th Century Fox.
An X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover movie could rival the Marvel Cinematic Universe set by Marvel studios. X-Men Cinematic Universe, anyone?
But what do you think? Will an X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover movie work? Sound off in the comments below!
