Middle School Adrionna Harris got suspended from her school for saving the life of a fellow classmate from certain harm and her mother got angry at the school for doing this to her daughter.

Adrionna Harris attended Bayside Middle School in Virginia Beach. Adrianna noticed one of her classmates was cutting his arm with a razor and acted quickly by taking the razor away from the student and throwing away. After she told the school's authority what happened, she instead got suspended instead of being praised for doing the right thing.

Adrionna Harris received a 10 day suspension as the result of doing what she did. Her mother Rachel Harris was furious at the school for doing this to her daughter thinking she did what is right.

In an interview with WAVY 10 On Your Side News, Rachel said her say in regards to her daughters situation.

"I was shocked and surprised. I was very shocked that a student would get suspended for saving another child. The school system over-reached, absolutely."

"I felt she did the right thing...There was not a teacher in sight while this boy was cutting himself. She felt like it was almost a 911 situation that she had to help immediately, like there wasn't time to find a teacher...The school system over-reached absolutely." As Adrionna herself put it, "...I was just trying to help."

Aside from her daughter's suspension, Rachel blames the school for their lack of action these kinds of situations and told the station that the school hasn't responded to her notice. The school responded to her inquiries and currently a hearing is in session regarding Adrionna's suspension and hoping her suspension will be lifted. If it were lifted she would be back to school on Friday or Monday next week.
