The Robin Thicke and Paula Patton split might be short lived due to the "Blurred Lines" singer paying homage to his wife at one of his concerts just days after their separation was announced in February.
"I want everybody here to know that I'm trying to get my girl back," he said during the concert, according to the Star Ledger , before singing "Lost Without U," the 2007 hit single inspired by Patton.
Thicke explained to People why he chose to go that route in order to retrieve Patton's heart.
"My music is very honest about what I'm going through and my songs are about my life," he said to the publication. "And my relationship with her was 21 years of my life, so I just thought it was important to me to let people know how much she means to me."
Allegedly his wife adored the emotional tribute.
"She loved it," Thicke said. "She thought it was the sweetest thing and very romantic, and I've always been a romantic guy that way."
Does this mean the two are once again a dynamic duo?
Although that question is left unanswered, Thicke remains hopeful.
"We're both doing well. We're both very happy right now — much happier," he said. "Everything about this moment in my life — this amazing year I just had and what I'm going through personally — has actually ignited some of the best writing I've done in a long time."
Patton and Thicke are parents to 3-year-old Nathan.
