One Direction claims to be bigger than the Beatles, so it should not be surprising that the most popular boy band today demands a little security. Or maybe a lot.
According to thehothits.com, the 1D boys will be hiring 100 bodyguards take care of them as they kick off their Where We Are tour in the US next month. That means 20 guards per member
It was said that the reason behind the strict security measure up is due to Liam Payne and Niall Horan's fear for safety.
A Daily Star source revealed what prompted that decision: "It's mainly Niall and Liam who are starting to get really obsessive about security. Liam's fears grew after two fans stole his pants in Australia last year."
"Niall is getting more and more sensitive because of his panic attacks."
The source added, "It's an insane amount of security for one band, but considering the way crowds form around them, it's necessary."
Liam's fear for security must have been caused by a group of fans who stole a pair of his boxer shorts on his hotel room last year.
He ranted about it on his twitter account: "Strangest way I've ever been woken up, When ur in bed butt naked an sum1 is trying to force open your balcony this is gunna be a strange day."
This was somewhat old news as One Direction reportedly spent millions booking out whole floors of hotels last July to stop fans coming to their rooms and getting past their security.
New updates on One Direction "Where We Are" Tour 2014: McBusted is hired to support the boys on their gig in France.
Tom Fletcher of the band Mcfly confirmed the rumour that his new band McBusted will share the stage with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan for their Stade de France gig in the capital of love on June 21, as reported by Mirror.
McBusted was formed after members of McFly and Busted joined together for a special Children In Need performance and chemistry was flying.
The English pop super group will start their own tour next month with 34 shows lined up across the UK.
