Looks like Microsoft has been busy lately with the success of Windows 8 and its update Windows 8.1. Now is the time that Microsoft is ready to unveil some details this week regarding the new Windows 9 along with a release date of the software. So the question is, are we ready for the future that Microsoft will showcase this week?
Microsoft will reveal some of Windows 9 details this week at the Build 2014 and according to reports from ZDNet, Windows 9 codename "Threshold" will be launched in the spring of 2015. While Microsoft will not actually reveal the full feature list of Windows 9 or mention a target launch date for the new OS, officials are expected to "discuss at a high level the company's goal to create a new Windows 9 SKU that would run on Windows Phones, ARM-based Windows tablets/PCs, phablets and other kinds of devices."
Windows 9 might not include a desktop for running legacy Win32p apps and will be frequently and regularly updated according to some past tips and sources.
In addition, Microsoft is also expected to unveil its first "touch-first" versions of Word Excel and PowerPoint for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and these apps function similar to the Office iPad being that the app is more user-friendly. It will launch next year along with Windows 9.
Microsoft will also share more details about bringing the Windows and Windows Phone platforms closer for developers, so apps will work across devices.
Clearly this is a new step for Microsoft, and with Windows 9 being developed and scheduled to launch next year. Things are looking bright for the future of Microsoft and the whole world.
