Looks like it's a battle of trademark logos: Walt Disney filed an investigation regarding DJ Deadmau5's trademark mouse logo that is somewhat similar to Disney's beloved mascot, Mickey Mouse. Did DJ Deadmau5 rip-off Disney or this is just a coincidence and a misunderstanding?

Last Friday, Disney filed an investigation at the U.S. Trademark Office regarding the trademark mouse that both Disney and DJ Deadmau5 have used. Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman filed his trademark mouse last year to cover all of the merchandise including electrical and scientifical apparatus, BMX bikes, paper goods, leather gods, sporting goods, toys, beverages and many more.

Walt Disney will looked on to DJ Deadmau5 logo which they were granted 90 days and submit a notice of opposition. Although both Deadmau5 and Disney's Mickey Mouse character are not technically identical, it's possible Disney could make a case that they are, according to trademark law, "confusingly similar", which could lead consumers to mistakenly associate the two parties with one another.
