His private conversation with the 17-year old Scottish girl went viral online. There were even screencaps and photos of their flirting posted online, but it was later on removed on the site called Imgur.

The teenager tagged James in a photo that she shared on her Instagram and later on the actor asked him to be tagged on the girl's video of him that she shared as well on her Instragram.
The actor's representative remained quiet about the James Franco scandal. To address the leaked conversation, the Pineapple Express star posted a self-image on Instagram with the caption: "WHY ARE YOU SO THIRSTY FOR UNDERAGE ONES". He tweeted together with that photo, "I'M NOT! I HOPE PARENTS KEEP THEIR TEENS AWAY FROM ME. Thank you."
