Rumor has it that the Chromebook 2 release date is in mid-April. Samsung's Chromebook 2 swerves around three new models in 11.6 inch and 13-inch versions and these have some tweaks inside and outside that adds to their appeal.
The Chromebook is characterized by an improved battery and faster processors running its small laptops. The 11.6-inch Chromebook 2 will run consumers $319 and the 13-inch full-HD model will be around $399. Both models, the in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch of screen sizes. The starting price is $319.99 and $399 accordingly.
According to Verge.com, NPD Group Inc. reported that “Chromebook sales accounted for 21 percent of all notebook sales last year. For devices that are functionally little different from tablets — designed for basic tasks like checking email and web browsing — they're growing fast. Even as the tablet market continues to grow, capturing 22 percent of the entire personal computing market just last year, Chromebooks are giving people an alternative to rectangular touch screens.”
The most accurate description of the Chromebook is that it is somewhere in the middle of something not too cheap and something not too expensive. It gets the job done. The faux pas leather look is something that started with Samsung’s Galaxy Note and passed on to the Galaxy S5 smartphone lines. For what it’s worth, the outer shell on the Chromebook makes it look different from other notebooks and hardware of other OEMs.
It continued to say, “Form factor sets them apart: the best Chromebooks offer the practicality and productivity of a keyboard with the stripped-down capabilities of a tablet. Toshiba just announced its first Chromebook at CES in January, and this week Samsung announced its new faux-leather styled Chromebook 2. These are the first 13-inch Chromebooks on the market — a middle-ground screen size that remains popular even as screen sizes rise across the board — but that’s not the only way they set themselves apart from the growing number of laptops running Chrome OS."
With the success of last year’s chromebook, competition is on the way with Dell, HP, Lenovo and Toshiba and Acer making their Chrome OS machines making attempts to market a laptop that does the work and looks a bit stylish too.devices now, as does Acer,
Darrell Etherington of TechCrunch says, “The Samsung Chromebook that exists currently (the Series 3 model) has an all-plastic case and was released in October 2012. At $249.99 it promised to be a supremely affordable computer with longish battery life and decent specs, but more recent releases from competitors outclass the aging notebook in almost every regard. It’s definitely due for an upgrade, and it looks like we won’t have long to wait for one to arrive.”
Chromebook 2 devices, unlike its predecessors which sold for under $250, aren’t going to be in the same price range under $300. This Chrome 2 version is sold in grey only.
